We may be a bit bias but Kennebunk has some of the best Maine beaches. There is something for every beach goers taste. Whether you are a sun bather, a beach comber, castle builder, sunset watcher, or surf chaser, allow us to point you in the right direction. While you visit The Inn at English Meadows in Kennebunk, we help to make your day at the beach easy. With chairs, umbrellas, towels, tote, and even a complimentary beach pass! All you have to bring is a good read and a your favorite suit! We even offer picnic lunches packed fresh included when you book a beach package. Look no further, here is our run down of the best beaches to visit this summer.
This is the spot if you are visiting with kids, the name says it all. With a great big playground that over looks a wide beach with tidal pools and rocks to explore with your little ones. There is plenty of sand to set up camp and soak up the sun. Play in the surf here with out a worry, there are lifeguards on duty and facilities. Dogs are also welcome at this sandy spot!
This beach is rocky and relaxing. Perfect for the beach comber. It’s a great place to listen to the waves roll in and out and watch the sunset. Situated between Mothers and Gooch’s its a beautiful spot.
This one is for you surf fans! Year round this is the spot to catch the best waves in Kennebunk. There are also lifeguards on duty during the summer months. Its important to check out the tide charts before you visit because during high tide the swells reach the tide wall.
To hit all three in one day is easy because this string of beaches are all connected by a sidewalk running along Beach Ave. Scenic 1.5 mile walk, three miles round trip.
Probably our favorite of all, this secluded spot has a limited 25 parking spots. Just muster up some parking karma and you’ll get a spot for sure! Its worth the possible wait. Parsons has a magical untouched estuary and is accessed by a narrow path between a thick bramble of beach roses, that opens up to a short beach with gorgeous views at high tide. The water to the left is coming from the tidal marsh and the beach to the right has large waves. At low tide the beach becomes expansive and speckled with rocks and tidal pools. All around this beach is peaceful and never crowded. Stroll here at sunset for an unbelievable view.
The 2017 countdown to summer has begun! The Kennebunks have had a taste of summer already with some of our Spring days having reached temperatures in the 80’s and 90’s! When we have a Spring like that, we know it is time to pull out the beach gear and dust off last year’s sand. At The Inn at English Meadows, that is exactly what we’ve done! Did you know that when you stay with us, all you need to pack is your swimsuit and your favorite sunscreen? We can supply you with beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrellas, a beach parking pass and beach directions! All you have to do is decide which beach you want to explore and what form of transportation you will take.

We’ve got a few to choose from, which would you like to explore? To name some: Kennebunk Beach (there’s one in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport), Gooches Beach, Mother’s Beach and Parsons Beach. Not bad for a small coastal town! Kennebunk and Kennebunkport have scooters, bicycles, and kayaks for rent and they are all within walking distance from our Inn. Scooters: Harbor Village Scooters, Coastal Maine Scooter. Bicycles and Kayaks: Coastal Maine Kayak

Your 2017 summer, New England Seacoast adventure is waiting for you…
Spring is here and we all know what that means, “ay-yuh”, it’s time to get out of the house – Waahoo!! Pack a bag, jump in your car and hit the road, don’t look back just get here. Let The Inn at English Meadows sooth away your winter woes with our complete spa package and begin the unwinding.
Then swing through the car wash to relieve your ride of the winter slush (while you do the same for your soul) and take a road trip. Cruise along the coast (the summer Rte. 1 traffic excluded), take in the sites you’ve been waiting all winter to see again. Then stop off to visit the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and be among the first to see the early spring bulbs and ephemerals while strolling through their gardens which comprise 295 acres of tidal shoreland
Everyone needs souvenirs from a great vacation! Either to remember how awesome it was, or to apologize to the people you didn’t want to invite.. Don’t even worry. Sarah and I went scouting for the best souvenirs in the Kennebunks, so you can get such amazing presents that you will end up keeping them for yourself!
The first and best place to start is the Inn, of course. They have all the luxuries from your stay available for purchase! Malin + Goetz soaps (don’t they just smell all kinds of amazing??), English Meadows coffee mugs and gorgeous hand-blown Italian drinking cups, Tea Forté tea bags and tea trays, the cute little tea pots, everything! These are the perfect things to bring home to remind you to relax and enjoy yourself, and to bring to people who don’t like trinkets!
The place to go for the cutest Mainey trinkets is Definitely the Daytrip Society. They have everything you will need to impress your friends with your thoughtfulness and generosity. Also, they have great sunglasses, and a Junior store for all the babies in your life who need to be spoiled.
Their card selection is straight up KILLER. You can buy them all and send them to your inlaws like, ‘oh darn, you would love it so much here, super sorry you couldn’t come. We’ll almost certainly remember to invite you next year probably.’
Next, we went to our favourite place for KENNEBUNK merch- Saxony Imports. It’s not as adorably curated as the Daytrip Society, but they do have really soft sweatshirts, cute hats, stickers, etc: Kennebunk souvenirs are their jam. Sarah got a great hat with a leather tab at the back, and will now be representing KPT in all of her paparazzi shots from now on.
After all of that shopping, it is definitely time to walk across the green bridge into Kennebunk to relax with a glass of something at Ports of Italy. You have earned it for SURE. Ask Mike the bartender for book recommendations- he’ll hook you right up!
That was so easy! What a success. Now you can go home with all of your beautiful trinkets and remember your favourite vacation!
Thanks for coming shopping with us, we hope to see you around the port this summer! We’re so excited to show you all of our favourite places around town, pretty soon you’ll be able to tour the town like a local! Don’t forget to book your room, cause we can’t wait to have you stay with us!
See you soon!

The fullness of summer is upon us and our gardens are in full bloom. Pockets of green with punches of color are sprinkled around our property creating mini oases that invite rest and relaxation. Some of our favorite blooms include the showy Lacecap hydrangeas, which love the soil in Maine, and the intensely yellow Asiatic lilies. We’ve created a pallet that mixes cool purples and blues with riotous reds, sunny yellows, and punchy fuschias. We invite guests to stretch out in these tranquil spots and experience the full beauty of late summer in Maine: warm, languid days punctuated with cool, star-filled nights.
The weather was so perfect we decided to sneak away and take off on the Rugosa lobster boat. What a great way to see the Kennebunk river and the beautiful coastline. Our captain Dave was great too bad we only caught 2 lobsters! We did have the opportunity to see President Bush (Sr.) out in his speed boat of course the secret service was near by. Since the sun was so tempting to stay and play we decided to have a quick cocktail at the Arundel Wharf Restaurant riverside – it was perfect on a day like today. Well our fabulous photographer Christian and his lovely wife Melissa will return tomorrow to finish the pictures of the new Quiet Moments Suite, The Bungalow and the outside of the inn so we went and bought beautiful hanging baskets I think they will look great in the pictures. Tried another new recipe today poached peaches in honey syrup wow they were delicious can’t wait to make them for you. Very excited that summer bookings are coming in strong, life is good!
