Blazing bonfires, incredible ice sculptures, live music, dancing, food, and specially-themed drinks served over bars carved from blocks of ice. That’s the annual Fire & Ice celebration in Kennbunkport, scheduled for December 11th and 12th, 2015 – and you’re invited!
Christmas Prelude really gets the Christmas season off to a wonderful start here in the Kennebunks and the annual Fire & Ice event is great way to top things off.
For starters, it’s a 21 and older only event serving Fire & Ice-themed cocktails (along with beer, champagne, wine, well drinks, and non-alcoholic fare), served over bars that have been hand-carved from blocks of ice … and it’s not just the bars that are made of ice.
Throughout the Fire & Ice celebration you will see amazing, intricately carved, ice sculptures like you’ve never seen before: architectural sculptures, huge animals, abstract designs, figures, and more. You’ll be fascinated by what forms a talented sculptor can bring out of a simple block of ice – and how beautifully the glistening sculptures sparkle from the Christmas lights and dancing flames of the bonfires!
The bonfires are the next big attraction at Fire & Ice – big, blazing heaps of logs help keep the chill at bay as you relax in an Adirondack chair, Fire & Ice cocktail in hand, and gazing up at the stars or tapping your toe to all the great, live music. That’s right: you won’t necessarily need to huddle around a bonfire to stay warm because, as stated above, Fire & Ice also includes live music and dancing! This year’s celebration will be entertained by The Carmine Terracciano Band featuring Tony Boffa.
After all that dancing you’re going to want something to eat – Fire & Ice has you covered there, as well, with scrumptious offerings from local restaurants to recharge and warm you throughout the event. Perfect!
Perhaps best of all, a portion of the proceeds from Fire & Ice go towards local charities, so you can enjoy yourself and feel good about it, too!
Fire & Ice really is the hottest ticket in the Kennebunks during Christmas Prelude, and has rapidly become one of the area’s new, favorite holiday traditions – don’t miss it!
